A must do tour

Alex was a wonderful guide. He did a great job of teaching us about the area on the way. He was helpful with where we needed to be for the best sunset picture!! Dinner on the way home was exceptional!! The red snapper was amazing!!

Best Afternoon Spent

Jannis, our driver, was wonderful. He explained the history of the temple to us and filled us in on the towns we drove through to get there. Afterwards, we stopped at a wonderful local tavern for a delicious meal. It was a great experience.

Definitely a ‘must see’ when in Athens

Eight of us took this tour so we had two vehicles, with Dimitirius (‘Jimmy’) and ‘Billy’ (I can’t remember his actual Greek name) as our drivers. It was fantastic. We got to the temple just before sunset, and had a fun time getting photos. After, Dimitri knew we wanted a steak dinner, so we were brought to a fantastic restaurant where we were treated like special guests, and the food was absolutely the best! It happened to also be my birthday, so before we left the restaurant Billy, Dimitri and the restaurant manager (owner?) came over to the table with a birthday cake and candle, and everyone sang happy birthday. It was so special!!! I would recommend this trip for the amazing scenery along, but certainly the special treatment made it one of the highlights for our entire group!

Great trip up the coast to see Temple of Poseidon. Dinner on the water at sunset was perfect. Perfect after a long day if air travel.

Highly recommend

The sunset tour of the Temple of Poseidon was phenomenal. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. The sunset was gorgeous. Afterward, our guide recommended a traditional Greek dinner that was fantastic, very authentic, and fun. We liked him so much- he took us to the airport with another sightseeing spot along the way. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the area!

Great tour but too much talk

George was a very reliable driver, spoke English well, and was a wealth of historical knowledge. Cape Sounion and the sunset at Poseidons Temple was spectacular. He also recommend Zorba’s, an excellent restaurant in a small elegant harbor in Pareaus. 4 stars because he did talk *too* much and went towards politics too much.

Friendly driver. Great experience.

Dimitri (driver) was great. He got us to the Temple of Poseidon in a timely manner and even stopped at a couple locations along the way to allow us to take some additional pictures. On our way back, he even took us to the airport to pick up the luggage that was misplaced by the airline for our travel companions. He then took us to the most wonderful location for a very late dinner but the food was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour and Dimitri to anyone else.

Best part of trip. Terry was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and intelligent. This was our last night of our trip and he helped make it memorable

Giannis was the best!

Giannis made our anniversary and birthday trip to Athens quite memorable. From the sparkling wine and chocolates in the car upon his arrival, to the engaging conversation and pride in his work, we enjoyed the entire trip. Take Giannis' advice for the meal on the shoreline, farther from the Poseidon's Temple. He also takes wonderful photos to commemorate the visit. There is no need for him to go with you into the site, as it quite self-explanatory. Be ready with Euros, as the credit card machine at the Temple did not work on our visit. Thank you Giannis! Perfect first day in Greece

We had a fantastic time during our tour to the Temple of Poseidon. Our guide Dimitri, was fun, informative and engaging. Our kids really enjoyed talking to him about Greek mythology. To top it all off, he took us to a great family style restaurant where the food and treats were fantastic. It was the perfect start to our Greek vacation.

Simple but beautiful

Our driver Thomas was fabulous. He was informative and friendly. We made two quick stops along thw way to view sites and take pictures. There isn'tmuch to see, just the Temple but the views make it a must see, in ny opnion. We spent a sufficient amount of time at the temple walking around, enjoying the beauty and taking pictures. The view is amazing, and the sunset, even on a cloudy day was beautiful. We had dinner on our way back at a family owned resturant with a lovely view of the sea. We enjoyed this tour and I'm am so glad we took it.

It’s a must!

So glad we found Ancient Greece Tours. We were a party of two couples that booked a gorgeous 5hr sunset tour to Cape Sounion visiting the magnificent temple of Poseidon. It was wonderful. Our driver was Yannis who was just superb. The Mercedes van was luxurious and comfortable with all the special amenities. Yannis made several stops at some wonderful photographic spots and beaches along the way to Cape Sounion and we still arrived at Cape Sounion with plenty of time to tour the site and watch the glorious sunset behind the Poseidon Temple. After the tour, Yannis took us to a wonderful sea-side restaurant in Vouliagmeni called Garbi. The fresh grilled fish served all of us generously and was delicious. Highly recommend this experience with this company.

Sunset Memories!! Temple of Poseidon was divine....

Terry was such an amazing guide! He was very talkative, effortless communication. Was very informative and engaging. He spoke to us about a wide variety of interesting topics which made our time in the car quite entertaining. We liked him so much that we booked another tour with Ancient Greece Tours the next day and requested we have Terry once again. We thought we would include the Temple of Poseidon private sunset tour the evening before the Athens Classical tour. I must admit both days were exceptional, better than we could have imagined. Our tour to the Temple of Poseidon started with a beautiful & leisurely drive along the Athenian Riviera, south coast of Athens. The Poseidon temple site and amazing sunset were a highlight. We ended the evening with a spectacular dinner at a seaside restaurant below the temple. A wonderful start of our vacation in Greece. The next day was the full day private tour of Athens. Acropolis, Agora, Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the changing of the Guard and the National Archaeological Museum WOW - all brilliantly coordinated and planned by our wonderful tour driver whilst avoiding all the crowds. That brings us to our tour driver - Tas. We couldn’t have had a better guide if we had selected one ourselves. So lucky and blessed to have met Tas. He is knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much in those two days. It is so clear that he loves and is so passionate about his work and the history that surrounds him. Thank you Tas. Enjoyable evening

This was an enjoyable way to see some of the Athens Riviera and experience sunset at the Temple of Poseidon. The driver was professional and courteous and although we had pleasant conversations during the drive, he did not provide much in the way of information about what we were seeing, nor did he stop for any photo opportunities along the way – it was really more of a taxi ride than a tour.

Lovely drive to Sounion before heading back to the States.

Wonderful evening touring Temple of Poseidon. Our driver, Giannis, managed to get us there just before the rush of buses and other tours. Then he drove us to a small coastal town nearby where we enjoyed a lovely seafood dinner at The Four Brothers on the water. It was our last evening before heading back to the states. We stayed near the airport, so this tour worked perfectly to allow us one last evening out. Giannis provided lively conversation during our drive and answered all our questions along the way.

If you do nothing else ... do this!!

It was amazing to watch the sunset behind the temple over the sea, our guide Manos was so knowledgeable and passionate about Greek history, and you finish the evening with dinner in a lovely restaurant right next to the sea...amazing, I would definitely recommend this experience

Michael took good care of us

Michael was a very professional, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable driver! He made sure we were comfortable and having a great time! The timing was perfect for seeing the sunset in this amazingly beautiful location!

Great tour

Our guide, Philip, was fantastic. The tour was interesting - the rack railway provides some gorgeous views, the monastery was interesting, and the visit to Sounion was just beautiful - and interesting. Even the quick stop to see the canal in Corinth was quite interesting. Philip was helpful, friendly, attentive, and willing to customize aspects around what we actually wanted to do.

Overpriced

Overpriced. 250 Euros included drive to Temple of Poseidon. Drive back to Athens. Would not recommend

Bday sunset at cape Sounion

About a month ago on the 20th of July I went on this tour. It was booked at the last minute for my bday. My driver was Manos and he was excellent. He picked me up and the hour ride from Athens to cape Sounion was excellent. our conversation easily flowed and we talked effortlessly. Manos was very knowledgeable in Greek history as well as mythology and again made the ride very fun. He got me there just in time to capture the sunset and experience it all. The hour ride back to Athens was just as good as the ride to cape Sounion. We spoke more about life, basketball, giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greek basketball league, and even his time playing basketball for Greece. I enjoyed the overall experience and will never forget this experience. Thank you to the company and most importantly Manos

Absolutely amazing company

We just did 2 tours with Tas at Ancient Greece Tours. We travel a lot internationally and we’re absolutely blown away by Tas’ kindness, knowledge, and excellent communication. If all tour operators were like him life would be great. We went to Ancient Corinth and did the Temple of Poseidon sunset tour. Both were excellent. Dinner on the Athenian Rivera was top notch. I will be recommending them to anyone I know heading to Greece. We felt like we were saying goodbye to an old friend at the end of the tour. Can’t wait to come back to Greece and see more. Do not think twice, this is your best bet to book tours out of Athens.
